Swiss Shallot

This is a small drawing I made recently for a friend who is compiling a small zine. The source image is small cropped portion of John William Waterhouse's famous painting The Lady of Shallot, and text is taken from the poem from which the painting is based upon. Right now I am not really sure if I want to go on to make it into a full colour print.  Also I just found out, upon showing it to my girlfriend, that it is also a song lyric by a Canadian singer Lorenna Mckinnett. Hurray for unintentional pop-culture references.

The Lady of Shallot is one of my favourite paintings. Really nice interpretation. :)

Thanks Claire! Yeah I had always seen this painting in art history books but never really closely looked at until recently. It is so good! And so it the original poem!
